Highlights of Peshawar City Tour (18 October 2020) Under the auspices of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority, a tour of the historical sites of Peshawar, the oldest residential city in South Asia, was organized. The event was attended by women members of the Provincial Assembly, singer Laila Khan, Pashto actress Shazma Haleem and families. Pashto singer Laila Khan took part in a historic visit to Peshawar as a tourist ambassador who not only spent time with families but also toured all the historical places with them. The tour of the flower city of Peshawar started from the Museum Peshawar. The families were given a detailed briefing on Gandhara civilization, Buddhist archeology, sculptures, and other antiquities, after which tourists visited Masjid Mahabat Khan, Heritage Trail, Sethi House, Gor khatri, and the museums, temples, historical fire brigade, and others located there. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KP-CTA) under the aegis of Sports, Tourism, Archaeology, Culture, Museums and Youth Affairs Department and Swat district administration are jointly organizing a three-day Sports and Cultural Festival in the scenic Gabin Jabba in Swat valley from February 26. Besides cultural activities and sports competitions including snow marathon race, snow cycling, snow judo, tug-of-war, and archery, the festival would also showcase handicrafts and food stalls, a playland for children and music shows to entertain the tourists and visitors. Famous singers and artists would participate in music shows to be organized during the three-day gala. FC dance performances, rabab music, Pashto poetry recital sessions, magic, and martial art shows, and stage dramas are also part of the festival.  The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to gift the people of Islamabad with a ‘ Model Forestry Park ’ in the Malpur area of the city . The project is set to be yet another addition to the long list of tourist attractions in Islamabad, especially for nature lovers, since it will have plants, trees, and a bird’s sanctuary for migratory birds. The idea behind building a forestry park in the capital city is essentially a two-pronged approach: Firstly, the authorities aim to provide a public space for recreation to citizens. Secondly, they want to reduce the encroachment on state-owned land.
